50th post! WOOT

It was SNOWING outside. In OCTOBER. BEFORE HALLOWEEN!

HOLY FISHPASTE

Now that that is over...I feel like doing a music post today.

Ok well, my favorite songs of the moment are:
  • Mr. Brightside -- The Killers
  • Coffeeshop Soundtrack -- All Time Low
  • Umbrella (Rihanna cover) -- All Time Low (Punk Goes Crunk)
  • Helena -- MCR (My Chemical Romance)
  • Afterlife -- Avenged Sevenfold
  • Secret Crowds -- Angels & Airwaves
I have much more to write about, but you will have to wait till later...I gotta go eat dinner.

OK...I am back!

Hmm...what can I talk about?

Well, I did watch Gossip Girl for like the first time, and I thought it was OKAY. I really don't get why people go crazy over it. It is not
that great. Oh well. And, for all of you Gossip Girl fans out there, I am sorry if I offended you some how, even though I didn't mean to.

I have a Driver's Ed worksheet to do, but being me, I am procrastinating.

Hmm...Oh yeah!

Halloween. What the heck should I be?
I was going to be a dark fairy, but I forgot to make the wings. So that idea went down the drain. My next plan was to be Goth/Emo, but I feel like I might offend some people with that idea, so I guess that fell down a pit and exploded. Now what? Halloween is on Friday and I have no idea what I am going to be! Panic!

I could be the opposite of me, but there is no opposite of me (refer to my profile).
I could be my favorite color, but I have no orange bottoms.
How about a...oh who am I kidding? I have no creativity whatsoever. So I am in desperate need of help. HELP ME. Oh you didn't hear that? Let me say it louder...
HELP ME!
Sorry about the obnoxiousness, but that is just how I am.
Do you have any wonderful, original ideas for a Halloween costume? I apologize about the lateness of this plea, but please tell me if you have any ideas.

On another note, well, not really--it is still about Halloween--anyways, what are you being for Halloween? How are you going to spend the day? I hope your Halloween does not turn out lame, like mine probably will (I have dance that day...*sigh*), and that you have fun, and eat LOADS of candy.

Well, all in all, today was a perfecto day. I absolutely loved it. We read Act II of The Crucible in English, and I had the most awesome time, laughing with my friend, and enjoying the snow. So basically, our English class talked more about snow and cracking wrists than The Crucible.
The play is about the Salem witch trial, just in case you were wondering...

Watch the movie if you can, I heard it is good. I have no idea why I put up a picture of this scene, but it was the only good picture I could find on Google.

So how was your day? Remember, I am always happy to hear any music suggestions, so feel free to tell me what songs are good these days.

Well, bye. This is awkward...I have no idea how to end this. It is too late for me to be writing, but I have to procrastinate somehow.

Oh, don't forget to visit bittersweet-whim! I need all the feedback I can get.

come and shop here, come on, do not be afraid...(I step inside -- alarm blares -- BEEP BEEP BEEP)...POOR PERSON ALERT, POOR PERSON ALERT

Today, I went to a little gathering at the Mexican fast-food-ish restaurant Chipotle, to celebrate a friend's sixteenth birthday. After that, grabbed a mocha frapp, and headed towards Anthropologie. I walked in, and I thought I was going to cry. Everything was absolutely beautiful! But the prices were not so wonderful.
Sob
Oh how I wish I could afford Anthropologie. Oh how I dream!
That crafty little nook of a store that has la plus jolie vĂȘtements (did I say that right???). However, I cannot afford anything in there.
Oh! WOE IS ME!

I am such a drama queen, if only I had the guts to be like that in school *sigh.*

Well, as pathetico as I am, I am willing to give up my study time to make a few polyvore sets devoted to Anthropologie...

Here is part one: dresses

Part two will be coming soon.

But now, I have to study for a History test, a Chemistry quiz (we have one every day of the week), a Dimensions of Prejudice, Genocide, and the Holocaust test, and do some Algebra II homework I need to catch up on. Wish me luck!

today's tunes...

I probably haven't displayed my love for music much, partly because these days I cannot find enough time to devote myself to browsing music artists and listening to songs. School, singing classes, dance and my family take up a lot of time (as does this blog).

But, here are a few that I am loving right now (you might have heard them before, because I am not too up to date on the music scene at the moment) :

  • - "Jamie All Over" - Mayday Parade
  • - "Creator" - Santogold
  • - "Always Where I Need to Be" - The Kooks
  • - "Such Great Heights" - Postal Service

As you can see, I tend to prefer alternative/rock music, but I love all music. I love poetry, and am a sucker for songs that have wonderful lyrics, some even made me cry.

What music genre(s) do you prefer? Are there any songs that you think are fantastic? Let me know, I need to download more songs onto my iPod, I only have like 69 or so.

P.S. I just watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Review: HILARIOUS, but could have been better. A bit disappointed in how it was directed, but only a bit. Besides, Robbie's face made up for all the imperfections ^_^. Poor Dave (he is my favorite character, for those of you who have read the series...).

Have fun with your wonderful lives! Will post much better posts eventually...when inspiration drenches me...

All Hallow's Eve

Photo from Google Images

I remember almost all of the Halloweens that I celebrated in my life, so far. For my first Halloween (in preschool) I was Dorothy, with the braids and everything. My long, curly, dark hair was braided and tied up with two red ribbons. I had the basket with Toto in it too. Oh! How I loved it!
Another time, I was a fairy princess, clad in pink, and with a sparkly tiara, shining in the setting sun, feeling as if there was no good magic that I could not conjure.
But as I grew older, my ideas for Halloween costumes grew worse and worse, until I came to the point where I totally lost my creative spark.

I realized that Halloween is not a day for ghoulish costumes, frightening tricks, and blood and gore. It is actually a day for fun, to celebrate our lives, and to just enjoy. So there are my thoughts on Halloween.

What does Halloween mean to you? What are some of your memories from your childhood?
Comment and share your ideas and thoughts! I would love to hear from you.

Oh and don't forget to check out the ultimate Halloween blog Party at A Fanciful Twist.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Merci, Danke (did I spell that right), Gracias, Grazi, Shie-Shie (did I spell that wrong too?) and some other ways to say...

...thanks!
Thank you all my loverly readers for wishing me luck on the PSATs, and in school.

Well the PSATs, are over and done with and so, I am free!

Well that is all for now. I am drained out. Oh, stay tuned (I know this is not a TV show, but still) to my blog for an extra special Halloween Partay post. Details about the early Partay will be explained in that post.

See ya!

SOMEBODY HIT THE PANIC BUTTON!!! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP...

I am so so so so so so so so so sorry to say that life stinks, and so does school, so that means that I cannot post on my beloved blog (seriously I am getting hooked!) for a week or two. This Saturday is the day of the DREADED PSATs !!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
*HYPERVENTILATING*
And I have a B in English, a borderline B+ in History, and other totally fascinating grades (not!) and I have to raise them all to A's I simply cannot cannot cannot afford to get any B's on my report card. Sorry for sounding like a snob, but I cannot have that happening. Plus, i am behind on my ranking in classes, and I have to be on top once again.
So farewell my loverly friends, or at least the few that are nice enough to actually read the stuff I write, and I will see you once my grades start improving.

But here are things that will be posted once I am back up and running:

- DIY projects (when I find the time)
-My stripey Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz tights (in blue, purple, another shade of blue, and glittery black), awesome thigh high socks with pom-poms, and other purchases
-Bittersweet Whim will be updated!
-My ramblings
-My room

So see ya until then!

tagged???

Ok, so I was on The Stylish Wanderer's blog, and she got tagged, and she in return, tagged "EVERYONE." So, since I saw that post...does that mean that I am tagged too? I will take that as a yes.

So the tag is to write six things about yourself that are quirky. Um...ok, even though I am positive that I have more than six qualities that could be considered quirky.

  1. I love lemons! So much that I can squeeze the juice out of them right into my mouth (without sugar or any additives) without puckering or complaining. Plus, I can keep doing that forever and ever and ever and ever and ever...
  2. I have like 50 different personalities. It is probably because I am a Gemini, but instead of having two sides to me, I have 50 (exaggeration, more like 17, but that is still a lot). My personality is never EVER consistent.
  3. I cringe at the thought of getting tattoos, but if I were to, I would get a mermaid either on my shoulder or my lower back.
  4. I love writing dark poetry...you could call it emoness, if you want, but hey, I like the dark side. It has lots of yummy, chewy, yummy cookies.
  5. Hmmm...this is getting harder. I am procrastination queen! Not really quirky or weird but oh well, deal with it. JUST JOKING! :P
  6. I have bangs, but I never let them out because they bother me. But I don't think I would like it if I didn't have them. Still, I always put them up.
I am tagging...hmmm...Chloe of Two Apple Pies, Gabby of Hello Eclectic, Miss Karen, and Katia of Blinding Bright Lights

Weekend Plans

Yay, it is a long weekend! Bring on the party hats, the pizza, the cake and, the music! Don't forget the disco ball!

As much as I do not support the idea that Columbus should be credited for the discovery of this country, since he was just a crazy, fat, old coot who was stupid and thought this was Asia (Seriously how can you miscalculate, and forget that the Americas are in the way? Do you not see this big lump of land right in front of you?Stupid Columbus...why did the King and Queen of Portugal -- I think -- even think about letting him sail?), I love him for one thing: we have a day off!

I have so many lovely plans for this weekend, and hopefully I will get to accomplish all of these goals.
  • Work on school newspaper articles -- One of the articles that I am writing is a "Night out in the Town" thing where I have to, yes you guessed it (how did you know?), spend a night out in the town, and write reviews and write about stuff to do...so that should be fun
  • PROJECTS!!!! -- Darn you Homework! Why do you do this to me? I have a Driver's Ed project to do, a Chemistry project to do (on glow sticks...how cool is that??), and English project to do (on McCarthyism...whatever that is, and it is not fair because we were supposed to get the Salem Witch Trials as our topic, but my teacher's favorite students --- I hate them! --- got to do it, just because she likes them better), some Dimensions of Prejudice, Genocide, and the Holocaust project...I don't even know what it is...and more! Urgh much?
  • DIY stuff...somebody get me some t-shirts!
  • And some other stuff that I cannot remember at the moment.
Well, that is all for now.

No, wait, it isn't. I got the most awesome stripey tights ever, pictures are to come, and some thigh highs with pom poms...very cute.

Pictures are on the way, I promise you.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rosa!!!!

frog stretches and torso pain

I just came back from dance, and what a class it was! Although we only got to do the basic steps and routines, and didn't get to do any of the items, we still had to do extra painful stretches. I actually did pretty well, considering it was my first time attempting the frog stretch, and found out that I am more flexible than most of the girls in my class. The only set-backs for me were my horrid balance issues, and my shaking legs. The frog stretch is this painful position in which you keep your feet together (with your ankles on the ground at all times) and slowly stretch forward, to form a diamond with your legs, and to lay flat on the ground. The objective is to be able to gradually lower your knees onto the ground. I know my explanation is horrible, so you won't really feel the pain, but Google it if you want.
My legs and I do not get along whatsoever. They bother me so much! If I am in an uncomfortable position, they start shaking like crazy, almost like shivering. I have nerve spasms like that sometimes. Hey, everyone has spaz moments. Actually I am shivering right now. It is so freakin' cold in this basement! I need to bother my dad so that he can fix the laptop in my room, but until then, I will have to be using the computer which is old, and named Mr. Fossil (yes, I name inanimate objects), which, not to mention, has been the canvas for my lovely doodles avec my loverly dry erase markers (which will not come off anymore--hmmm...that is a problem, now isn't it? Oh well!).
Anyways, I digress.
So I just came back, and I decided to do a post, since once again, my best buddy School didn't allow me to post anything. She is a bit possessive (I might have spelled that wrong, but the spell check on my computer is not working at the moment).
I am posting some pictures of a D.I.Y that my like-a-sister-to-me-and-we-even-sometimes-look-like-siblings friend and I did, with a bunch of old, broken hair clips that she had laying around in the house. The long colorful hair clip has been made into a lovely ring for me, and the brown flower into a necklace for my friend (sorry but I have to say this---Yay! Spellcheck is working again!). As for the two butterflies, we threaded some ribbon through them, and made them into hairband slash sashes. I didn't get to take pictures of those, sorry, but I will post them as soon as I snap them. Sorry about the bad picture quality though.
