Happy Thanksgiving

Wow, it is Thanksgiving already!
I can't wait till I eat yummy yummy food: mmm...stuffing, mashed potatoes, apple pie, and of course, TURKEY....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I am thankful for my family, my friends, and my life.
I am thankful for all that I have, and am able to have.
I am thankful for everything that has happened to me, from academic achievements, to happy moments of life.
I am just very thankful.
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
What are you thankful for?

EDIT: I keep forgetting to upload that one fall video from ages ago (refer to this post) and I have to admit, it is sorta stupid and really short, but I loved how wonderful it was that day, so blustery that the leaves were twirling around in the wind...I just thought it was really pretty.

Feel free to say it is really bad, and unnecessary, and pathetic because I know it is. I just wanted to post it because I said I would, but I never did. Oh, and it sounds like it is raining, but it really isn't...it is just the wind.
And you get to see a glimpse of my very pretty neighborhood.

a peek into the mind of lise...

Ok
So I finally found time to answer these loverly, and actually quite interesting, questions that everyone has been asking me. Of course, you can still keep asking me questions, but it just wont be answered in a formal post like this one. It will be answered though, just randomly...hope you don't mind. ^_^

Some of the questions I did not answer for privacy purposes, but I will gladly email you the answer....if you don't mind. So, if you find that I have not answered your question, leave your email address and I will get back to you on that.

Alright then, off to the Q's :

Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Hmm...what should I say. This is a very controversial topic, in my opinion, but I believe that the egg came first. I mean, sure, the chicken had to lay the egg, but where did that chicken come from? An egg, no? Well then, there is your answer...
Wait, then, that chicken that egg had to come from somewhere too, so is the answer a chicken? I dunno, what do you all think of this...very difficult...question?

Who is your ultimate style icon?
Um...I don't have one. I just get inspired by fellow bloggers, street style sites, and certain eras, like the hippie times. Sorry for the bad answer...but really, I do not have a style icon, I just like to be myself. I know that was cliché but, it is true!

Why do you blog and for whom do you blog?
I blog because no one that I know listens to me, and I need to let my thoughts out, or I will explode. So I write things down. And since blogging is more convenient, I post my thoughts, ideas, feelings, etc. I don't really blog for anyone. I blog for myself, for my own satisfaction. The only reason I apologize for not posting in a while and whatnot is because I have a few readers who are truly kind enough to bear with me while I rant, and actually sometimes like it. So just in case people are disappointed, I doubt it though, that I have not rambled about nonsense for a while, I apologize. Other than that, I blog for myself, and anyone who wants to listen to me talk.

What book/song/movie has affected you the most, and why?
Great question. I think that I have been most affected by the movie V for Vendetta, way to awesome to describe. It just showed me how corrupt politics, and the world can really be. As for the song, I have to say "A Lonely September" by Plain White Ts is very dear to my heart. Not only is it a great song, but the lyrics speak to me. The entire song, except for maybe two lines at most, depicts things that have happened to me. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is the one book that touched me the most. i never really sympathized with a character that much before, not even (*gasp*) the characters from Harry Potter. The ending brought tears to my eyes.

What cheers you up when you are feeling blue?
There are a lot of things that cheer me up when I am feeling down. Music is definitely one, just as long as it is not a depressing song that I am listening to. I love to sing when I feel upset, it just lifts my spirits. But I must warn you, if you happen to be strolling along while I am singing, please do not sue me for any bodily injuries that occur. It is not my fault I sing so horribly that your ear drums break, or you get into an accident, or whatever. Maybe it is just your bad luck.
^_^
Another thing I do to make me feel a little happier is daydream. I love to daydream about dancing and twirling on a hill of candy grass, singing while the cotton candy sheep bloat away, adorable little cows moo to their hearts' content, and white, fluffy, marshmallow clouds float above my head. Another dream is the one that I mentioned here and here.
Going to dance class also cheers me up. There is something about that pain, the sweaty smell, the complicated routines that just hypes me up.
And how could I forget eating gummi bears? It is my favorite cheer-myself-up activity!

Well, I hope that I answered your questions satisfactorily, just tell me if I didn't.

I will get back to normal posting soon enough, especially since a holiday break for Thanksgiving is coming up.

P.S. I had the most amazingly funny, yet stomach tingling dream ever. In fact it was so wonderful, it inspired me to write about it...maybe I will...

Just check bittersweet-whim regularly to see if I have posted anything or not. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do! I need the most feedback I can get. Why are you still reading this???? Go now to my other blog. NOW...GO! ^_^

a rather different set of friends

I was a bit disappointed that no one even attempted to guess where my last blog post title was from. But do guess where this title is from (Hint: the answer is the same as the last one...^_^)

Well, the only news is I added a poll (look at the side bar), and if you do answer the question, just leave a comment explaining why you chose that answer. If you chose "meh" or "miserable" tell me what I can do to improve. Thanks!

Oh, and since I need more ideas to blog about, I am going to use the marvelous Amelia's idea (sorry Amelia, if you feel that I copied you, but seriously, it is a great idea. Hearts!), and have a question answering post, so that you can get to know more about me. Therefore, I probably won't blog for a while, allowing enough time for everyone who visits my blog to ask a question. So, just comment with a question, and I will try my hardest to answer it to your satisfaction.

Until then: I will leave you with this amazing song/dance number from one of my favorite movies (hint hint hint: watch this and you will figure out where the blog title is from).

Isn't it just cute?

good morning starshine, the earth says hello!

Guess where the blog title is from...it is quite easy I think.
Sorry about the lack of posts, but I am just not getting creative enough. Nothing much to write about.
Well, we had a four day weekend, and today is the third day of it. What have I accomplished? NOTHING. I feel so stupid. My goal was to finish all my homework by today, but procrastination, laziness and lack of interest got the better of me. *sigh*
Plus, I had the most depressing dreams--correction: NIGHTMARES--and two of them sandwiched the only happy dream I had, sucking all of the joy out of me. You could say I feel pretty blah about everything right now. No, sorry, that is not correct. I feel scared, slightly that those nightmares will come true, since they weren' t ghostly, BOO nightmares, they were scary, my life is never going to be the same nightmares. It is sad really.

So here is my sad playlist. The songs are not necessarily meant to be sad, but I like listening to them when I am upset.
  • It Ends Tonight -- All American Rejects
  • The Kill -- 30 Seconds to Mars (how hot is Jared Leto??? DROOL)
  • Going Under -- Evanescence
  • A Lonely September -- Plain White Ts
  • Helena -- MCR
  • My Immortal -- Evanescence
But, I do feel like leaving this completely unhappy post about my life, with a rather interesting news/rumor session.

  • I know I am a bit late to announce this, but in March Target will have a version of Alexander McQueen's McQ collection! EEEEK!!! Saving up money much?
  • Jordin Sparks diagnosed with throat cancer???? Rumor or fact, I have no idea. I heard about it, but I can't really find information on it, so I think it is a rumor (I hope it is a rumor...poor girl, she is only like what 18, 19?), but tell me what you know.
Oh wait, I am not quite done with this post yet.

Here are some of my favorite street style looks ( I have been pending this post forever, but better late then never n'est-ce pas?)

pictures are from here, here, and here.

These are only a few of my favorites, but I can't really squish the others in, since I have a tag to finish.

  4. SPIDERS: funny stories: One time, there was a spider on our staircase, and I just barely got a concussion trying to avoid it. It was on one step, and I jumped down from like two steps above it, and that means I was jumping from five steps above the ground. What I didn't realize was that part of the ceiling would be in my way. So I jumped, my head hit the edge of the ceiling, and everything went black...Next thing I know, I am on the ground with my mom yelling at me to wake up and not die. HA HA HA...ha. Yea...and the other day. Why, I believe it was last Wednesday, I was stuck in the basement for like 10 minutes, home alone, with no communicating devices (the phones were all upstairs, and the Internet would not work) and I had a sudden fit of hysterics, I was THAT scared. The spider was huge! Blackish brown, fuzzy, and menacing. But, I managed to get out, without shaking to death, and cried and cried and cried. That was my WORST nightmare!
  5. Bananas--I puke at the sight of them...

Hello my loverly friends and enemies (I don't think I have any webenemies, but oh well, hello to all the people who hate me anyways...sorry, I feel super crummy, excuse my annoying attitude). I got tagged--WOOT, no sarcasm intended--by two loverly bloggers April and Daniella, and so her is one of them.
I apologize Daniella, but I am super tired (school work+ dance + blog = 4-5 hrs of sleep every night, and I am NOT USED TO THAT AT ALL!), and only have time for one, I promise that I will get to yours soon, I will try to do it in the next post (in 1-2 days).

Tag #1 - since I named April first (sorry Daniella) I shall do her tag...

It is called the HAPPY TAG...hmm

  2. list 6 unimportant things that make you happy

6 "unimportant" things that make me happy

  5. daydreaming
  6. cows and sheep and bubble eye goldfish
I am tagging:

See y'all next time

I feel so crabby, crappy, etc. I feel like strangling that poor, poor, random guy on the street, who is just checking his mail (at this hour??), and doesn't know that a little girl who is annoyed and cranky is plotting an evil scheme to strangle him. JOKING. I am not a creep.
Actually, that may be questionable...considering that one time I-- and that other time--oh, maybe I am a creep.
But you didn't read that did you?
Psst...at this point you should be shaking your head saying no, or even better yet, shrugging, wondering what the heck I am talking about...
This is all a hallucination, you are not actually reading this, it is all a dream, not reality, now Miss Lise has to couche herself (go to bed...I think...apologies about my horrid french), and so you can leave a message (or comment) after the beep.

lakme fashion week: mumbai (part 2)

Before I forget, all the pictures in the "collages" (in all of the Lakme posts) are from here.

Part Two of Lakme Fashion Week

*some of the dresses from Archana Kocchar were really pretty, like the one with Mandira Bedi in it, but the pictures were too small too make a collage out of them(on PAINT, yes this is what people without Photoshop have to resort to), so check them out for yourself*

So, what do you think? The only reason I went through all that effort making these collages for Lakme Fashion Week is because everyone is so focused on the European Fashion Weeks, that nobody pays attention to the other countries. I have always loved India's Fashion Weeks and their fabulous designers because they offer a wide variety. There are the traditional clothing, the contemporary, and a fusion of the both. Plus, the intricacy is amazing, and absolutely stunning. I can never get enough of the collections at Lakme Fashion Week. Actually, almost all of the collections are really wearable, and offer different cuts and silhouttes that can suit any body type.

I think this season, my favorite are, Little Shilpa and Nikasha. Little Shilpa was just a huge art collection, enough said, and Nikasha reminded me of cupcakes and frosting. Mmmm...yum.

Falguni & Shane Peacock slightly disappointed me this time, as they are my favorite label, and I expected more from them. Nonetheless, they did a good job, if you look at it with an open mind.

Vikram Phadnis--wow--wearable, beautiful, and Bollywood much? It is usually really hard to make Bollywood style wearable, because they are usually gaudy and too heavily decorated. But Vikram did an amazing job accomplishing the task.

Sabyasachi blew me away, as it always does. WOW.

From the previous post, I think Anuj Sharma and Gaba were my favorite. They were just so different. The others were good too, but they seemed like some stuff I saw before. I don't know about you, but I bet that a lot of people would try to make Anuj Sharma's zipper dresses, great DIY dresses...I know I would try.

lakme fashion week: mumbai (part 1)

Here are some picks from the collections from Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai...there are so many, so I will probably cover them in parts. Then, I will review a few, and point out my favorites. Tell me what you think!
