a steal after ages
Remember THESE ankle boots that were horribly sold out everywhere???
Well, here's a pretty close look alike...
I wouldn't be surprised if they are sold out like NOW.
Forever 21 keeps coming up with this runway look alikes...like just the other week, I added some mary jane pumps that looked very close to these miu miu babies to my bag...and I checked back on them the very next day...they were sold out -_-
Happy Shopping :)
Hope y'all can get a hold on those shoes!

Randomness at its best
I miss posting here.
Anyway, lately I've been hating the summer weather. I love the vacation bit, but I hate the sunny skies, scramble eggs on the sidewalk heat, and the inevitable sunburns and rashes...It's like I am allergic to heat!
I am not liking this one bit. I want spring-y, fall-y weather! I want rain. I want 60-75 degree weather. I want fog. Last summer was the best. Even the summer before that was amazing. It was not too hot, it rained a lot, and there was a lot of romantic fog. I love the way the green of the trees pop after a refreshing shower of raindrops.
Oh, and the clean smell of it all too!
The only downsides to rain are the earthworms, but they aren't that bad! They can be cute sometimes.
So that's one craving: cooler weather.
The other craving is a trip to Europe. All my friends are going to Germany, France, England, Italy, Ireland, etc. I have been to Belgium before, and Paris (for around 6 hours...nope, not in an airport, but actually at the Eiffel Tower...) and Amsterdam, but that was ages ago. I was 8.
I loved it then. Belgium in the fall is gorgeous. We stayed at Brussels, and had the best time. I wished we stayed in Paris/France for longer, but it was great while it lasted. And Amsterdam was hilarious: grimy and damp but has the most interesting crowd! In fact, we were thrown into a parade of Hare-Krishnas! It was quite amusing, and being a Hindu, it was interesting to see how non-Indian people celebrated the religion (although I could almost SWEAR half of them were high on something!)
But all through my lifetime, I wanted to go to London. At age 7, I knew I would go to Oxford at one point in my life (now that I get closer and closer to college stuff, I know that I would have to aim for that for my Graduate studies and/or PhD)...I was in love with everything English.
I still have that desire. I have dreams of becoming someone famous in London.
Paris was always my second option though. My backup...a very far-fetched backup.
Lately these cravings have been getting to the extreme level. To calm my urge to pack myself in on of my friends' suticases, I have been making collages on Polyvore. It is sad.
The collage above is the one I am entering into this giveaway contest, and I quite like it. Even if I don't win, I would definitely like to wear this outfit...or at least something very similar to it!
I quite like this one. I actually made this one out of anger. I really wanted that Miu Miu print Zara dress, but alas, I haven't been able to hit the stores for so long. I really hope it is there when I go fall shopping. I can see that outfit happening (it is actually more reasonable than the red dress outfit).
Notice any similarities between the two? I see a couple!
OH.
MY.
GOSH.
I just found out that now, out of ALL my close friends, I am the ONLY one who hasn't gone/isn't going/will not be going to London for a visit. It makes me so angry because this was a dream I had since the age of 7, and watching my dreams come true for everyone but me is heartbreaking. I am happy for them, but at the same time, feel like I have the most unfair fate, hahaha. Oh well. Thought I would share.
Any tips to make this incredible sadness go away? (I know it is kind of silly, but unless you had this type of dream for so long, or had to watch it come true for others when you know they have never wanted it as badly as you have, and will never appreciate it as much as you will, you will not understand. Has anyone had this happen to them?)
I love my friends dearly, and some of them are genuinely sorry about it because they know, but the others are just ruthless. Oh well, I will get over it. In the meanwhile, enjoy these songs:

- The red, white, and blue combination. I am really digging this color combination. Yes, it is very patriotic, but you can avoid looking like an American Flag! I like how this is such a nautical look. One time, I made the mistake of wearing this red and white striped trapeze tank with a blue cardigan with tiny white polka dots. It looked really cute, but too July Fourth :(
- The umbrellas! Refer to rain craving.

Emma Talk
Summer vacation has just started and I thought that I should start watching the movies on my To-Watch List. One of them was Ballet Shoes.

Based on a 1930s novel, the film airs on BBC on Christmas in the UK, and watching it in mid June was just a little strange. It revolves around three orphans, the unrelated Fossil sisters, who get trained in the performing arts in order to help their guardian run the house. I must admit that the movie was long, but it didn't exactly drag. Emma Watson's acting was not the best, as expected.
On that note, I remember doing a post a long time ago about how much I did not like Emma Watson. It was probably because of her acting, which more than often crosses into over-acting-land. I liked her in the first few HarryPotter films, but after the third (which killed the rest of the movie series for me), I just thought she looked as if she was trying too hard. Her forced expressions, her false emotions, everything just seemed caked on. But what upset me the most was the image changes for the characters. But that is irrelevant.
In Ballet Shoes, Watson's acting had not improved but I loved her look in it. I think that is what appealed most to me, the setting, the wardrobe, the mood, the aesthetic of the film. That old, retro, 1930s, vintage vibe drew me in, and got me interested.

The film itself, ignoring Watson's acting, was decent. It was not amazing, but it was a good watch. A good way to spend a summer day...especially when you are stuck home alone with absolutely NOTHING to do.
While we are on the topic of Miss Watson, I came across this spread a long long time ago, and never got to post it.

Although I may not like her acting, I like her as a person. She has the brains, the charm, the style and the personality that makes me admire her. I was so excited when I heard that she was attending Brown University. I thought that maybe I would go visit the place and perhaps run into her, but I had no time to travel up to Rhode Island. And now, as a senior, it is a tad too late.

almost back...
It is HELL WEEK in school right now, and tomorrow will be the fieriest of all. I have two of my hardest finals tomorrow: English (on like 50 different works, grammar, 500 vocab words, etc) and Physics ('nuff said). And I have been gone for so long because of junior year hassles...SO once tomorrow is over, I AM FREE.
Regular posting will probably start some time between Friday and Monday...so be excited!

on repeat
I absolutely LOVE Vampire Weekend's Contra...absolutely amazing. I would recommend Horchata, White Sky, Giving Up the Gun (a certain yummy Mr. Gyllenhaal is in that video...*swoon*), I Think Ur a Contra and Cousins. Holiday is good too. Heck, the whole album is great.
So Vampire Weekend's been playing over and over on my Grooveshark account. Regina Spektor is playing over and over again in my head; Us, On the Radio and Ne Me Quitte Pas are my favorite by her.
On another note, this weekend I am going to watch Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and I am so excited!
But now I have some questions for YOU. And I probably won't be back until I get a significant amount of answers to the questions because they are about my blog. I really want to continue blogging, but I need ideas, recommendations, suggestions, etc.
I was going to do a super post, but I only got one answer to one of my questions...so, that kind of failed. But please, do keep commenting on this post, and if I get enough suggestions, ideas, etc., I will commit to this blog more.
That is all.
Toodles.
