on repeat
So Vampire Weekend's been playing over and over on my Grooveshark account. Regina Spektor is playing over and over again in my head; Us, On the Radio and Ne Me Quitte Pas are my favorite by her.
On another note, this weekend I am going to watch Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and I am so excited!
But now I have some questions for YOU. And I probably won't be back until I get a significant amount of answers to the questions because they are about my blog. I really want to continue blogging, but I need ideas, recommendations, suggestions, etc.
I was going to do a super post, but I only got one answer to one of my questions...so, that kind of failed. But please, do keep commenting on this post, and if I get enough suggestions, ideas, etc., I will commit to this blog more.
That is all.
Toodles.

la jolla
He is so sweet, but we butt heads ALL THE TIME. And then, mid punch, we just burst into hysterics, for no reason, and laugh and laugh and laugh till our stomachs ache, and our eyes tear up, and my mom comes in, just to make sure we are breathing.
Anyways, so we went to the mall, and I really liked the Boy Fit jeans at American Eagle, but I didn't get them. I came home empty handed, but I am not too upset because that means I can save up even more to go shopping with my friend "R" at H&M, as we both have gift cards waiting to be spent. Plus, I want to save up a bit more extra money to buy some jodhpurs/drop crotch pants at Zara, the newest member of my favorite stores list.
While we were at the mall, my brother wanted to go inside Hollister, and so I followed him. I sort of wanted to go too, not to buy clothes (I have WAYYY too many graphic t's from that place, and totally regret it...I don't really like wearing them now...but I try to incorporate them into outfits as stylishly as possible, trying to look as much unlike a mall chick as possible...) but just because the smell and the music is captivating. I could just sit in that store forever and ever and ever, sniffing at all the clothes.
Creep? Maybe...shhh
So while the brother and mother were looking for cali-style stuff, I was sniffing through the fragrances...and found "THE ONE(S)." La Jolla, SoCal, and Malaia were the most amazing fragrances ever! You must go to Hollister just to try them out, and you will understand...
Ok, that being said...
FASHION WEEK...!
Some of the collections were disappointing, as a lot of bloggers have already stated, but others were amazing :)
My sad excuses for collages are coming up at the end of the week!
I am so sorry this post was so boring, but I needed to put something up for the week, or else you would have to keep reading about V-day...
Well, I have a chem test to study for...how I hate the subject :(
toodles darlings
<3 lise
p.s. that outfit challenge hasn't been going too well, I got a lot of Audrey Hepburn challenges, but I haven't really started...so I guess that is going down the drain.
p.p.s I might do something similar to Amelia's challenge (<---click, then scroll to bottom of post) though...if that is ok with her...

what 58 degree weather can do to a girl
Tights are fun to wear but it is a pain taking them on and off for gym, and because of that pain, I risk being late to classes, another pain.We never get enough time to change, and I already make it dangerously close to the late bell when I am going to chemistry from gym, when I am not wearing tights. I sort of have a reputation for not being tardy, EVER, and I want to keep it up, so the only day I can happily wear tights is Tuesday, lab day, when I don't have gym.
But then the frigid, bone chilling cold hit, and I couldn't leave the house without wearing like 50 pairs of pants...gah.
Then my gloves got holes in them, because my fingers are freakishly long. And then my jacket's hood kept falling off.
And my ears got cold.
And my fingers.
And my toes.
So, bottom line is, I hate the cold. Everything about it.
But then again, the stylish people that are featured on The Sartorialist and Facehunter and Style Slicker make me want to reconsider.
Yet, I can't wait to hear the birds tweeting in the morning on my way to the bus stop.
wearing flouncy skirts (with tights on cool days, sans on warm ones),

looking for bunnies in my backyard,
playing in the fog with my best of friends,
having picnics,
and spring break!
I am watching the Grammys as I write this, and Chris Martin's (Coldplay) shirt was WAY too short. But I still love him. Who doesn't?
Anyways, I cannot wait till the spring/summer :)
On another note, I got a sparkly award, originally made by the tea drinking english rose, but passed down to me by Micaela, thank you, and it is wonderful!
In return, I shall pass this down to:Blair

ice skating and more
I am back with goodies. Well...not really, I just have a few photos to post.
This is an outfit I wore last week with one of my Christmas presents, a UO lace vest thing. It is amazingly soft, comfy, and looks GREAT. I love it. My friends do too -- a plus!
gray top -- heritage 1981
pink tank -- pacsun
jeans -- jc penney
socks -- old navy
I am off to go ice-skating, even though I have never ever ever tried it before in my life. Will tell you how it goes :)

oh, and i'm just waiting till the shine wears off...
hmmm...so this is what the new year feels like
On new year's eve, I was super bored, played Guitar Hero World Tour all night long. No, I lie, I played it till 10 pm, then I went off to bed, woke up again at 11:45, watched the crystal ball drop on TV, and cried WOOT! HAPPY NEW YEAR! ate some strawberry shortcake, and slept.
Woke up at 4:00 am, got ready to go to the temple...dragged my self off of the little comforter I was sleeping on on the floor, brushed my teeth lazily, slipped into my best chudidar, the one that my auntie in Florida sent me, the white one, pulled on a hoodie (it was freezing, not to mention the sleeves of the chudi were sheer and practically made of tulle) and trudged through the heavy morning air to my uncle's car, and drove off to the temple.
At the temple, I kicked my fUGGs (fake UGGs...what? it was cold, and it was 4:30 am...I didn't know any better) off, and zombie-d up the stairs to the main area of the temple, where all the deities are.
And that's when it hit me...it was 2009.
WOW.
At that moment, everything in front of me changed, everything, everyone...I felt like a new person. Something spiritual was flowing through me...ha ha...makes sense that I was at the temple.
My family and I sat in front of the main deity, listening to the priests chanting the mantras and preparing for the abhishekham, the bathing of the gods.
A few minutes later, I separated from my family and went off to Shiva's shrine. He was my favorite deity, the destroyer, the god of Dance.
I watched patiently, intrigued by the beauty of the lingam, as the milk, the honey, the sugar, the yogurt, the water, everything cascaded down the smooth black marble. It was amazing.
Time to time, I diverted my eyes to the nataraja statue of Shiva.
(picture from google images, but it doesn't do him any justice)He looked so fierce (ha ha...I sound like Tyra) with his locks flying behind him, as he stood in the famous position so perfectly...something that I, and the rest of my dance class, have been trying to do without falling down.
Ok, enough of the religious talk.
Then we went to watch a movie, and then had dinner at some restaurant called Ming.
Phew, now that that is over, let me post some pictures from yesterday, and the day before, over the break...etc
This is the dress I wore to the temple. I just thought it was wayyy too pretty not to post.
.jpg)
I like how it makes me look taller and skinnier.
This next photo is one that I took of the snow, on New Year's Eve, which lasted for no longer than 15 minutes.
I probably have more to say, but I have a term paper to write, and notes to scan.
toodles

daisies
I decided to change the layout a bit...just a tad
I added my playlist, and I know it is in an awkward spot, but that is the only spot that it will show fully, without half of it being cut off.
Oh, and I changed the header, and the picture is from that one teen vogue feature thing, and it is practically my favorite feature out of all of them...they have had some good ones, but this is definitely one of the best. I guess my all time favorite is this one, it is just so lovely. I want to dress like that...maybe I will, for Valentine's Day. But then, that means I will be hypocrite for the day, since I am actually Anti VDay...hmmm
Oh, wait! I like this one too! The dresses are just so adorable! Especially the balloon tee. So cute.
Hang on, this fashion spread is not so bad either. No wait, I take that back, it has Ali Michael in it, and I don't like her too much. That is a really nice way to put it actually...but the clothes in that spread are divine!
Well, I found more on the website (hmmm I definitely have issues with picking favorites ^_^) and I think instead of just filling this post with links, maybe I should post the photos that I like the best.
I guess this holiday break is inspiring me to get inspired, and these fashion spreads are inspiring me at the moment...jeez I used inspire way too much in that sentence, but I am too lazy to think up another word to use.
I mean, am I expected to keep playing Guitar Hero World Tour (Christmas present...yes, I shall post all my gifts eventually... >.>) all break long?
Well, the answer is NO. So I decided to come up with a challenge. I am super inspired now (ha ha, I used it again ^_^) !!!! I decided...ready? Are you ready?
Ok, well, it isn't that exciting but I am going to challenge myself to pick an outfit from each of those collage things that I made, and create my interpretation of it. I don't know if I will do it over break though, now that I think of it. Maybe. I want to, since I love dressing up, but it all depends on the circumstances.
I shall leave you with these pictures of my nails. Look closely, I painted hearts onto them. Sorry about the bad photo quality. Oh, and another photo of the yummy cupcakes I baked for the holiday partay in English class.

super (with a french accent) post!!!!
- I hate hypocrites, but I am one
- I love the way Emma Watson dresses! She practically oozes, style, elegence, and prettiness. Gosh! What I would do to have her wardrobe!
Have you ever seen her at premieres, fashion shows, partays, etc? Her clothing is so...PERFECT!
I wonder if she has a stylist, or if she does it all herself...hmmm...
Here are some examples of her flawlessness (although she can improve her makeup a bit, sometimes it comes off as chalky.)
(pictures from teenvogue.com)

WOW.Anyways, that aside, let us move on to some more inspiration (which leads to my carpy photography): the weather.
Ok, so everyone knows that December has been crazy this year, with on and off temperatures, and on and off snow. Just recently, over the weekend, snow was falling down on the states like there was no limit. Knowing me, semi-cold, cloudy, gray weather is romantic and beautiful, and so I took a few pictures.
(Just so you know, the "FU" on the bracelet is part of the word "FUN," warning people before they get offended. I got it from a friend, who made it for me, and for some reason, the "N" didn't photograph...hmmm.)
more snow:
YAY!
Photography? Check!
So now we transition into my daily outfits...that would be a false statement though, as I am posting only a few outfits. I don't get time at all to take pictures, get them onto my computer and whatnot, but here are a few that I managed to get done:
This one, ha ha...funny story. This outfit, I agree, is completely outrageous, and would have people everywhere thinking "what the heck was that girl thinking???"
Well, I was thinking the same exact thing.
The story is, I woke up late that day, and didn't have enough time to plan out my outfit for the day. So what did I do? Oh yea, something every girl does in the morning, I bet. I opened my eyes to realize 2 things:
- it was dark
- it was 6:09 (wayyyy past my wake-up-time ---> I have to leave the house by 6:45, which means I need to finish brushing my teeth, taking a shower, pulling my clothes on, doing my hair (the classic poofy pony...I know, no creativity, but YOU try managing this mane of impossibilities), pinning my bangs back (which have the same, fantastic, poofability as the rest of my hair), moisturizing (cannot stand dry skin!), eating breakfast, drinking milk, wearing my shoes, and running out the door before 6:45. And mind you, this is no easy feat when you only have around 4- 5 hours of sleep every school night.
By the time I realized that my outfit would be a tad...different shall we say...it was too late. I was already in it. So I just run out of my house.
Well, I received a few awkward stares, a few "ugh" glances from the pathetically-styling-Uggs-and-proud-of-it clan, and even my close friends gave it an up and down stare. I was hurt...sort of. I mean, I received worse, but this was just harsh, you know? Well, all that depression ended in English.
My English Teacher: Hey, Lise, are you trying to make a statement today?
Me: Hmmm?
My English Teacher: You know, with all the polka dots, the stripes, and the plaid...they clash completely...and the colors too. Are you trying to prove something to the world?
Me: *laughs dramatically* Oh, that is so funny! No, I have nothing to prove. I didn't even realize...why do you ask?
My English Teacher: Er...I was just curious...I-I mean it isn't a bad outfit...just interesting.
Me: Yea...
This conversation just made me laugh.
Ok, enough talk, more pictures:
gray top: heritage 1981
gray tank underneath gray top: kohls
plaid shorts: pacific sunwear
stripey tights: target
shoes: payless
This one is pretty drab, but I liked how the frilly tank thing went with the stripey cardigan. And, in these pictures, you get to see glimpses of my room (I painted the door to look like that...you will see the entire thing another day). Another post shall be dedicated to that...in the near future (jeez, my legs look super long in these!).
stripey sweater: kohls
purple ruffle skirt: express
pink skirt: from my childhood, but I think I got it at JC Penney
purple tights: Simply Vera by Vera Wang for kohls
legwarmers: hollister
silver flats: aeropostale
Well, tell me what you think of my outrageous taste, especially since it is my first post with an entire outfit in it. Usually I jsut post my legs, or my feet, or my hand, or my nose, ear, pinkie finger...you get the point.
I am actually writing this in school, in my Tech Drawing class...since it is the last day before the holidays, I am spending my time wisely during our free period to blog...so considerate of me, non?
Now the time has come to award some of my fellow bloggers...
These three fabby fab girls, the quirky Erin Meagan, the marvelous Daniella, and the very shweet Cait, were super cool and presented me with this award:

THANK YOU, LOADS!
the music database Hazel
the wonderful Amelia
the sweet tea drinking english rose
the very quirky Emilie and Emily
the fantastic Gabby
the cute Demi
GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
Okay, so let me take out my checklist:
- award -- CHECK
- outfits -- CHECK
- photography -- CHECK
- music
- runway
- holiday wishes
My favorite genres of the moment are folk, electronic, indie, alternative, french pop, classical and Indian classical.
So here is a mixtape through Mixwit (they are saying goodbye, and shutting down...boo hoo!) that I made of some of my favorite songs that I heard this year. These are only a few of my favorites, I have too many to put into one mixtape.
Oh, and since the website is closing down, some of you may not be able to view the mixtape, if you are too late in reading this. so here is the list of songs on my mixtape:
- arms -- seabear
- hello seattle -- owl city
- the adventure -- angels and airwaves
- sleepyhead -- passion pit
- water curses -- animal collective
- moi je joue -- brigitte bardot
- secret crowds -- angels and airwaves
Well, here are some of my favorites from the pre-fall 2009 shows:
(photos taken from style.com)
Tell me what you think...I guess I just had a lot of favorites...
I was going to make collages of other collections, but I didn't think half of them were worth the time. Vera Wang and Badgley Mischka were quite disappointing, in my opinion...I just didn't find them too appealing.
Right now, it is 11:14 pm, December 24, 2008. Christmas is almost here! Presents!
I shall post some pictures of my presents and packages in another post, as I do not want to delay this any longer.
So have a very merry and jolly and happy holiday, and I hope that you have a fantastic new year as well!
Sadly, the super post has come to an end, and I might not post for another while...family and holiday and other stuff to take care of...but have loads of fun, and comment comment comment! I hope I covered everything!
*most pictures, if not all, can be enlarged by clicking on it...*
toodles!
